The Client

Assemble is a SaaS Project Management Platform for Video Production Teams. They came to us to help them increase visibility, traffic, and sales leads, to win more clients in a competitive video production software market.

The Plan

  • At the start, the client set a goal of 3X the number of paying customers in 3 months. By the end of 2022, Assemble is aiming for over 1000 customers in the video production, boutique production house, and creative industry space..
  • Assemble is competing against a range of popular and free or cheap tools, such as Google Docs, Slack, Frame, and Monday, that production houses use for managing projects.
  • Despite content marketing efforts, Assemble had limited rankings and visibility against more established competitors. They weren’t generating the quality of traffic they needed to get more sales leads, especially from busy producers looking for project management software.
  • We needed to find keyword opportunities to increase traffic and conversion rates through the sales pipeline.

The Execution

  • Website Quality Audit (WQA) // At the start of the project — following our SEO Sprint model — we ran a comprehensive WQA to assess the websites technical, keyword, content, and performance against competitors. These quickly identified areas that needed work and setup the rest of the campaign for success.
  • Keyword Research // We needed to identify keywords that would drive a higher volume and quality of traffic and leads. Assemble wanted to pivot content to pull in producers looking for project management solutions. Using our keyword universe model and competitor gap analysis, we found dozens of high-quality keywords that would achieve the right results.
  • Content Creation // We know there’s enormous value capture even with low keyword search volume, especially when targeting niche target sales leads. In this case, video and film producers. We focused on creating long-form top of the funnel content — such as expert guides, resources, and templates. We created this content targeting keywords like “post production template,” getting this new content to rank, pushing traffic and sales leads into the funnel and increasing conversion rates.
